Two of the UK’s biggest supermarket chains, Morrisons and Tesco, have cafes which provide such a deal to those looking to get their young ones fed. But which kids meal deal is the best?

Here is a breakdown of each deal, and how you and your children can enjoy some tasty, yet affordable grub when doing your weekly shop.

Morrisons

This supermarket offers a favourable deal for families with one free kids meal with every adult meal purchased over £4.50.

Morrisoons’ kids meal deal is valid from 3pm in the afternoon to the supermarkets’ close every day.

For the little ones, any kids meal includes a piece of fruit and Tropicana Kids Orange or Apple drink, or a bottle of water.

Anyone interested in this deal must remember that it only applies when purchasing any one adult meal with a value of £4.50 or over, and does not include food purchased under that threshold.

There can only be one free meal from the kids menu with any one adult meal with a value of £4.50 or over.

For anyone who is hungry for extra portions of food or trade ups, these are not included in the £4.50 minimum value.

It should be noted that this offer is only eligible with the Morrisons cafes’ set menu and excludes special offers.

Due to it being a deal, it can not be used alongside other offers, except the Teatime Meal Deal.

This particular deal for teatime customers can get a meal and drink for £6 at any time after 3pm.

The Teatime meal can include any food item from the £4.50 or more menu, and the drink can be either a regular hot drink, regular fizzy drink or bottle of water.

For the kids meal deal, the child must be under 16 years of age and present at the time of purchase.

Furthermore, this free meal must be a kids meal purchased from the customer Café kids menu or chilled kids snack pack, and not a smaller portion of something from the adult menu.

Morrisons’ deal lasts during the UK’s summer holidays and finishes on September 5, 2021.

Tesco

As part of this supermarket’s meal deal for kids at their restaurant, one child eats free when an adult spends £3.50.

Tescos’ offering for families covers its Pick n Mix kids meals, which include a sandwich, piece of fruit, two snacks and a drink, or a hot meal and is usually priced at around £2.75.

On top of this, the supermarket chain has a hot meal deal priced at £2.85, which includes main course options like baked chicken goujons or fish fingers.

For families who prefer the vegetarian option, Tesco also has a meal which can include veg sticks and beans, an extra side option including sweet potato fries, mash or garlic bread.

Breakfast options are also included in the kids meal deal, including Little Eggs or Little Avocado, both on toast.

For families interested in this deal, it is available through the summer holiday season until September 1, 2021.

Families can debate among themselves which one is better, however both are lifelines for families looking for a quick food fix while at the supermarket.
