Influencer’s ‘easy’ method makes ‘powerful disinfectant’ using 3 ingredients

This Morning: Lynsey Crombie shares her low cost cleaning tips

Disinfectant sprays are often used in kitchens, bathrooms and areas where people eat to banish nasty viruses and bacteria.

While they are very effective, they can be expensive, especially for those who buy multiple products for different areas of the home.

One way homeowners can save money is by making their own disinfectant using household ingredients such as alcohol and white vinegar.

Lynsey Crombie, in partnership with Dr. Beckmann, has shared how to make a “powerful disinfectant” using just three household items.

She explained to “Make up a powerful disinfectant easily by filling half a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol, 25ml of white vinegar and then 25 drops of your favourite essential oils.

“Choose ones with antibacterial properties such as citrus, tea tree or eucalyptus.

“But DO NOT use this on marble or granite surfaces.

“If you want to make up your own cleaners, do your research and don’t follow along TikTok trends unless it is a professional cleaner offering professional advice.”

White vinegar can be found in most supermarkets, online or in hardware stores.

Stardrops White Vinegar Multi-Purpose Cleaning Spray costs 99p from Asda and Dri-Pak Pure White Vinegar costs £2 from Ocado.

White vinegar is good for cleaning because it’s acidic in nature which means it can dissolve dirt, grime and grease easily.

The natural cleaning solution is also strong enough to banish bacteria, making it a good alternative to chemical-based cleaning sprays.
