How to clean the oven
In the group, the property owner shared pictures of her newly cleaned oven rack.
She wrote: “Absolutely amazed by the oven rack bath tip. Comes up like new with zero effort.”
The post quickly gathered hundreds of comments with Britons wanting more details on the trick.
The Facebook user explained exactly what she did to get her oven sparkling again.
She added: “Here’s what I used. Soaked in a hot bath for an hour and a half with two washing (machine) pods, two full caps of fabric softener and a tumble dryer sheet (just because it smells nice). It literally wipes off.”
There are plenty of oven cleaning products available to buy, but she explained these may not be necessary.
By simply using common household products, she managed to transform her oven with very little effort.
Other homeowners tried out the hack and explained how well it worked for them.
One woman wrote: “I did mine last night with washing powder and some fabric softener and was amazed how easy they came clean this morning.”
“This saves the hassle of tin foil will do this next time,” another added.
One Facebook user simply commented: “It’s honestly amazing.”
Some tried the tip for themselves and managed to get similar results by using even less.
One commented: “I didn’t use a washing pod or tumble dryer sheets and it just wiped off.”
Another added: “Works just as well with biological washing powder, hot water and leave to soak.”
Others commented that they used washing powder instead of dishwasher tablets to get the best results.
