IT'S not long until Apple unveils the iPhone 14 but there could be an unwanted surprise among the mix.
The world's most valuable company could increase the average price of its new products, despite continuing to do well in its recent business results, reports Phone Arena.
iPhone shipments rose by three percent in the latest quarter, compared with the same period last year.
But at the same time, Macs, iPads and wearables were down, which could be behind any price rise.
The firm is in a tough spot, given that people around the world are tightening their belts amid a cost of living crisis.
Part of the problem is that Apple is facing big costs when it comes to making the iPhone.

So the prices we're used to right now might not stick around for much longer.
And it's not the first time we've been warned about a possible hike.
Last month, experts told The Sun that the next iPhone could cost $100/£100 more than last year's model.
Apple looks set to unleash four new iPhone models in September, as usual.

The iPhone Mini is expected to be dropped, instead having an iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max.
This would be in addition to an even pricier iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
So it's possible that the iPhone line would simply start at $799/£779, in absence of the Mini.

This would be a price rise for the iPhone range, but not for the iPhone 14 itself.
With the launch only around the corner now, we won't have much longer to find out whether predictions are true or if the tech giant manages to hold off any drastic price changes.
