Windows need regularly cleaned to keep them looking their best. Fans of Mrs Hinch have revealed a surprising cleaning tip to leave them sparkling using tea.
Mrs Hinch gained a following by sharing cleaning tips on her social media pages.
Since then, she has gathered nearly four million Instagram followers and has shared her tips during TV appearances.
The cleaning guru has also inspired other homeowners to give advice and there have been social media groups dedicated to her.
Posting in a Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, some people shared an easy hack for cleaning windows.
How to clean your windows
Cleaning windows can be a tedious task with the inside and outside needing regularly freshened up.
Some cleaning products can leave visible marks and streaks on a window.
One woman asked for tips when she was struggling to keep her windows clean.
Posting on Facebook, she wrote: “Can anyone advise on cleaning windows? All I get is streaks and they never look clean.
“I don’t want to use vinegar or buff with newspapers as we don’t have a daily paper.”
While using vinegar is often recommended when cleaning, the homeowner wanted to avoid the condiment.
The post gathered more than 200 comments as cleaning fans shared their favourite tips.
A number of people recommended using tea to create a cleaning solution.
One wrote: “Cold tea in a squirting bottle spray and wipe with a kitchen towel. It leaves them gleaming.”
A second added: “I use tea and a glass cloth, it’s super easy and leaves no streaks. I will never buy a glass cleaner, it’s so streaky and hard to work with.
“Just make a jug of hot water put a couple of tea bags in, leave to cool and put in a spray bottle and you good to go.”
Another commented: “I use cold black tea – it works for me.”
One Facebook user said “cold tea in a spray bottle,” while another agreed, simply stating “use cold tea.”
The homeowners explained using cold tea could work as well as more expensive cleaning products when trying to get results.
